Astroman 2012 will take place on Sunday 13th May. Up to 200 athletes will take part in the event. The competitors will race over 1900m swim - 90km bike - 21.1km run. 
Athletes are required to arrive in Astros no later than Saturday 12th May to proceed with the bike check-in
Registrations were open since February 2012 and have closed on11th of April.

Due to conflict with the National elections the event has moved by one week on 13th of May. Therefore there will be an extra opening for registrations for 48 hours, on 19th & 20th of April.

Time keeping


The times of the athletes will be recorded at the following points:

Exit of the water entering transition area.

Departing transition area with the bike

First loop of the bike 45km (passing outside transition area)

Entry to transition area with the bike after 90km

Exit of transition area to start running

First loop of the run 7km (passing outside transition area)

Second loop of the run 14km (passing outside transition area)

Finish 21km

Water Stations

Transition Area: permanent station throughout the event with: Water – Coca-Cola - GU Brew Isotonic – Bananas -Salty crackers

Bike every 22.5km: station with: Water (in bike bottles) – GU Brew Isotonic (in bike bottles)

Run every 3.5km: station with: Water (plastic cup) – Coca-Cola - GU Brew Isotonic (plastic cups) – Bananas - Salty crackers


Trophies & Awards


  • Overall winner: 500euros (taxes apply)
  • 1st runner up: 200euros (taxes apply)
  • 2nd runner up: 150euros (taxes apply)
  • 1st woman: 350 euros (taxes apply) - unless she is among the top 3 in which case only one of the prizes will be awarded.

Medical Supervision

The event will be supervised once again by the Red Cross Samaritans. 

The Samaritans are cooperating with us at all our events since 2007.

They provide us with First Aid officers, life-guards and appointed race doctor. Their contribution is of great value to us and we are very grateful to receive such encouragement and support.

Event date changed to 13th of May due to elections
Due to the announcement of National Elections (not planned) in Greece for the initially planned weekend of the race, the event will move to the very next weekend of 13th of May.Following this decision, we will re-open registrations for 48 hours on Thursday 19th of April and Friday 20th of April, for those who would like to participate to the 3rd edition of Astroman.
